Well, I've been using emacs for awhile, but, a few days ago, I noticed all this white highlighting all over the secreen when I run emacs. (It's actually in emacs. There's white space all over the place where it used to be black.) I don't THINK I changed any of the settings, but I'm guessing that is what the problem is. Can anybody help out?

Could I suggest that you try vim instead?

I would love to, except for the fact it is not installed on the system that I am currently using. (Not my system - I am logging in remotely.)
Anyway - Emacs? Highlighting problems? Help?
