I made 2 shared folders on my Redhat Linux 9 box, 1 on my mounted FAT partition and the other in my home directory. Both have the exact attributes, Read/Write access to everyone. I also chmod 777 the folders to make sure everyone could have read/write access to my shares. However, the share in my home directory could not be accessed by other boxes on the network. I get the network path not found error message in the windows box.
Everyone can read/write my FAT partition share though. However I tried to make a share in my root directory giving Read/Write access to everyone and it works. NOW everything works except for the share in my home directory. I have checked with webmin and the samba share utility in Redhat but to no avail.
Any ideas anyone?
