qiv is the best image viewer I found (quick, no non-sense). GQview will give you thumbnails.

I checked out gqview, the problem is that when i try to view files larger than my 1280x1024 desktop, there are no scroll bars to see the rest of the image. i do "fit to screen" but it just doesn't have the same effect

I just installed compupic
Do i have to go into the shell and run compupic everytime i want to use it?
how do i put it into my menu in my kde desktop menu?

better yet, is there documentation telling me how i can put stuff i installed into my menu?

I don't use KDE but I know it has a menu editor somewhere.... I do remember that if you right click on the desktop, you can create a shortcut that points to Compupic.

Gtksee. It is a port of the popular windows ACDSee (or something like that) image viewer and can browse images and run slideshows . . . sweet.

You should have KDE documentation installed on your system. KDE Help?
