how great is winex by transgaming?

just wondering...
i do really wanna play games on linux, such as gta3, morrowind, mafia, starcraft, warcraft3, etc...
just wondering, how good do these games run using winex? and... wut about the multiplay features in thes games?

im about to get rid of windows.... ;)

Try searching the games database at www.transgaming.com to see if/how the game you are looking for works?

sometimes a game listed as stable/working doesn't work. i have had expierence with this. winex also has a lot of lag. i suggest just keep a win 98 part or something to play games.

The laggy part can be (most of the time) worked around by starting it with "nice -20 wine"
this sets the priority of the app to the highest seeting and I have had this help at least in Homeworld (Fallout still lags though...)

I have convinced them to add the "nice" feature into their next Point2Play app for launching games (another cool benifit of being a subscriber, the P2P I mean :) )

I've found you can use it for more then games. I'm using it for Trillian (IM Client). Pretty neat. I'm pulling the install off of my windows partition in Mandrake 9.1.


Bet they never thought of that.


But as far as games go, I tried to install WC3 and BF1942 and it installed alright, but when I browse for the files they arn't there.

playstation is only for rpg and sports games...
