I installed VMWARE on my windows 2000 partition, and under VMware I installed RH 6.1 on another free partition, but i didn't install LILO(don't ask me why i didn't, I didn't think that I needed it). Anyway when I try to boot RH up in VMware it gives me an error saying that the disk is already in use. Would I have to have LILO installed for it to boot up(may be a dumb question, but I am a total newbie)and if so where would I install it and how could I do it? Or would reinstalling it be the best bet? Thanks for any help.

Did you install RH in a virtual disk or a raw or plain disk (physical partition)?
If you installed the guest os on a actual physical partition using the raw/plain disk method, you have to make sure the host os does not have access to the partition.
I use VMware for Linux and have read that if you use a physical partition to install the guest os, you cannot have the partition mounted in the host (Linux - fstab).
VMware's documentation may be of help to you http://www.vmware.com/support/

It is on a physical partition. Thanks for the info, although I am at work right now, I will check on that when I get home.
