Ok, I downloaded and installed quicktime4linux thinking it was a player. Much to my dismay, it's just the libs. I tried all of the many video players I have on this box. None of em worked.
I searched on sourceforge and freshmeat and didn't see anything too appealing.
What app plays quicktime movies!? (I think I found the greatest IBM commercial on adcritic.com...the one where the guy thinks he lost all his servers and then the other guy says they put it all into one...(A linux box, nonetheless))

As far as I know nothing plays Quicktime movies that use the Sorenson codec. This would include almost all quicktime videos on the net.

According to last months Australian PC User Linux Minibook:
Quicktime allows for many different methods of encoding video and some of these methods carry high licensing fees. As there is no official player from Apple for Linux, only the free methods can be used at this time. This is not a big problem since most QuickTime videos are encoded with these methods. For example, QuickTime videos can be watched with the Xanim player.
Sorry that's all the info they give on Q~T~.
Hope it's some help :)

*sigh* Start a petition to get Apple to make quicktime for linux. That would be really nice IMO...a commercial video app for linux.

Any media player can do it with the right codecs. Check out the mplayer site on it, they have codecs for lin.
As for browser integration, nothing yet, but its really not nessisary.

MPlayer with the win32 codecs plays quicktime fine for me... or rather, the 2 quicktime movies i've wanted to see in the past year or so... You could also use something like Crossover Plugin or WIne to run them...
