RH 7.2 nvidia still doesn't work

been trying to install for a week now .... still cant do it ( learned lots about linux though) ... read most of the info on nvidia chip sets but can't get my system to work:

Problem: system does not see eth or soundcard ( am mostly concerned with eth at this point)

i have installed the drivers from nvidia for rh7.3 ... installed fine i checked with rpm - qa |grep nvidia and saw it there but no change in my system even after a reboot

downloaded and installed the "generic" drivers recompiled my kernel as per the instructions and got pages of errors and nothing changed

output from dmesg doesn't say anyhing about eth after all that

reinstalled red hat and tried the same thing different order three times

still nothing .....help: confused:

also what video card do you have? is it a stand alone card or is it onboard?

just a question about the thread cstrasser did you post the thread twice or is this a forum bug?

no forum bug .... i posted a problem with my video card (Nvidea geforce4 ) .
built in ... got that resolved but now i am trying to install drivers for my chipset (sound and net) and can't get it to work
