I'm running Debian 2.2pre21.etc.. and it is nice... but i've got some problems with some software i wanna install. Gamera... (aol for linux) is what my goal is.. problem is that i can't get it to work correctly.. since the rpm files came with gamera are rpm's then i needed alien and rpm and all that other crap.. but I can't get it to properly install, it says i need a bunch of files to install the gtk+-1.2.6... rpm file.. (btw, i've converted the rpm's to deb's, didn't help). So maybe if i can get the gtk crap to work i'll be all right.. but I have no clue what to do!! I'm having problems with the initial instal. Is there the gtk standard libraries already on here or what?

I'd like to hear from a fellow debian friend.. cuz i cant take it any longer w/o one!! (it's driving me insane listening to people yammer about windoze and all that other crap.. i neeed a fellow debianer)

Convert the RPMs to DEBs anyway, it makes removing them simpler. Don't use RPMs unless you absolutely have to (i.e. they won't convert for some reason).

Anyway, since Gamera isn't exactly legal, I can't help you (I tried finding it so that I could try to install it myself).
