LNO never really appealed to me. I'm glad they changed it to JL. With LNO, it seemed like a place that you would just quit coming to after you were no longer a newbie.

I guess I'm pretty alone on this one, but I finally have to get it out of my system:

I pretty much miss the old linuxnewbie Domain, because it was what made me join this forum. Knowing how important netiquette and individual sets of rules are in forums, I originally had no clue what forum to join when I did my first Linux instal.

Justlinux is okay as a domain, but I think it's not as great - because JL can be anything from a couple sites with newbie-howtos to a kernel development group. The old domain was great because it lowered the treshold for people hesitant to join because they wouldn't know if they'd be laughed at for posting their questions.

Furthermore, I don't agree with the argument that people would leave linuxnewbie after they feel they're not a newbie anymore. Everyone who has spent time as a newbie on this board knows how valuable it still is once you got to the more advanced levels.

Oh well, just my 2 Rp. :)

Doesn't really matter what the site is called. It's the quality that counts. :)

You know, there was a major reason I selected this site out of the gazillion linux help sites that were listed...

I was a newbie to linux, so www.linuxnewbie.org seemed like the right choice! :D
