Upgraded to kde 3.1.2 from textar on mdk 9.1 everithing works fine except that now artscontrol crashes everitime I try and run it.

It sais its a signal 11 SIGSEGV. Checked the ARTS server and its up, yet I need the artscontrol so my box does not sound like a tin can!

the offending lib libartskde.so.1 is in kdelibs
for that upgrade.
unfortunately i think artscontrol 1.0.0
is designed to work with KDE 3.0.x
and hasn't been kept up to date.
that might be the problem
