I am currently running WU-FTPD using inetd. It came with the red hat installation.
I want to install proftpd but found 3 different packages for the same version.

I know what the difference is with the standalone version. I don't think I need it to run as a daemon. I only have one other user who uses ftp to update his site.

the other 2 pacakages I found at
ftp://ftp.sourwood.net/pub/ProFTPD/distrib/packages/RPMS/

proftpd-1.2.8-1.i386.rpm
proftpd-inetd-1.2.8-1.i386.rpm

what's the difference between the two. I notice the file size is much larger for the one that doesn't use inetd.

thanks,

Sorry as I have no idea what the difference is between those packages. Anything on the main Proftpd site that explains?
