Hey all. I'm a newbie, of course, and I installed helix gnome successfully. I didn't have any problems starting it through gdm when I first started using it. I've noticed though that the 'Gnome' selection doesn't show up under Sessions menu. I read another post on how to fix this, and I thought my problem was solved. Upon any reboot now, I'm back to the same problem of the gnome session not showing up. Each time, I have to log into root and chmod +x Gnome the file listed under /etc/X11/gdm/Sessions, which fixes the problem. How do I make it so that the Gnome file remains an executable regardless of a reboot? Any help is appreciated, and pardon my newbieness ;) .

Well, I've figured out that the Gnome file under /etc/X11/gdm/Sessions keeps changing back from an executable to a plain text file upon each reboot. Am I supposed to save any changes, etc? Somebody please reply, this is driving me crazy.
