What exactly is your problem? are you booting directly into the CL rather then kde? what happens if you type startx at your user prompt$ and then press enter? silentblade234 09-03-2003, 01:27 AM i type startx and then it says waiting for X server to shut down...i did something that installed QT packages and it overwrote something...i want to revert back. is that possible? bosox79 09-03-2003, 02:43 AM Originally posted by silentblade234 i type startx and then it says waiting for X server to shut down...i did something that installed QT packages and it overwrote something...i want to revert back. is that possible? it looks like we need to try reconfiguring xwindows mandrake has a tool to help with this I juat forget the name. you will have to forgive me it's been a long time sense I have used MD try running xf86config from a root console root# to get to the root prompt type su press enter then type in your root user password o0zi 09-03-2003, 03:09 AM Did you make a backup in the first place? If not then you can't really revert back. Of course, you could uninstall all the QT and KDE packages and reinstall them to see if that makes any difference. In MDK 9.1, use the rpm command to add and remove packages, see the manpage for more details. justlinux.com
