For Christmas I got an HP Pavillion XE783. I just installed Mandrake 7.2. It says didn't list the i810 onboard video card in xf86setup. So I bought an nvidia tnt. Installed but now drake 7.2 doesn't recognize the card or the monitor. Also on the other partition WinME locks up as soon as it begins. The boot works fine until it begins painting the desktop. Then it locks. I checked my bios for video and I only have onboard 1MB or onboard 512K listed. Any ideas what I can do?

Probably too late since you already bought a new video card, but there's a NHF on the 810 here http://www.linuxnewbie.org/nhf/intel/hardware/i810intel.html which is for X 3.3.6

The WinME problem is most likely caused by having both the onboard video and the nvidia. Can you disable the onboard in the BIOS?
