I just installed linux today. I don't know jack about it. I need some help setting up networking. I am at college and have a school interenet connection. I don't even know where to begin. Idealy I would like to be able to talk to someone on the phone and have them walk me through it. I can make the phone call. BTW, I am using Mandrake 7.0

The NHF's here are good for newbies, and as you gain experience you may find the docs available at http://www.linuxdoc.org helpful. Also read any documentation on your system and whatever comes with software you download or purchase.

Ok, I need immediate help. If I can access the internet within linux then I can apply things I learn right when I learn them, insteading of trying to learn in windows and do it in linux. Or waste a lot of paper. Any help(ie. not NHF's) would be great. I read through some of the NHF and they don't make the least bit of sense to me.

Exactly what is it that you need help with? If you give us a specific problem, then we can troubleshoot it for you.
The solutions to a lot of problems are posted around these forums too.
