hey all,
redhat 9 system here.
sawfish 1.2-5
sawfish-ui won't work
error: can't connect to socket /tmp/.sawfish-travis/grendel:0.0
*** Error: can't connect to sawfish on display, :0.0
all i want to do is change the theme used for window borders. i'm wanting to make my desktop look as close to OS X as I can get.
any help is appreciated.

When do you recieve this error? when you boot into gnome or just when you are trying to change your window border?

trying to change the window border.
i've googled and come across redhat forums that discuss this issue but no workaround.

I did a G4L search myself and did'nt come up with much have you see this page sawfish: an extensible window manager (http://sawmill.sourceforge.net/) if no one else has any ideas check the bugs section and if nothing is listed you might want to report this as one.

on the whole, the gnome-theme-manager is mostly a big turd. i am suprised they let this go from 8 to 9 w/o fixing it. i'll bugzilla this and see whta happens.

i bugzilla'd this and this is what they say:
sawfish-ui only works if you're running sawfish.
It should have a better error message, but this is
an upstream issue; we don't do any active development
on sawfish

Thats a bummer, maybe there is another OSX like WM you can use :)
