Boot log

There surely is a file that saves the boot messages... I'd like to know where it is?
something like /var/log/...

Are you talking about the messages it prints out as it's setting up the system during boot? Use the command dmesg to get a second look. It gets saved to the /var/log/dmesg file.

There's also a /var/log/boot.log file, but it holds different information.
