Ok, so I heard Ximian Evolution is supposed to be a great mail client, and I seriously need one in Gnome 1.4. btw, the Ximiam installer? incredibly easy. Anyway, I can not find it in Linux, eventhough I'm almost positive I've downloaded it and Ximian shows no more updates to my machine. If you use Gnome, could you tell me what you use as a mail client? Right now, I'm resorting to KMail, but it's not as good as I would like.

I use sylpheed. Tried evolution, balsa, and pronto, but sylpheed fit me the best. Still some things I'd like to see added to it but works great for me.

so you have Evolution? Is it sometype of ghost program on your comp? I really can't find this thing, and it keeps saying I have it.

Um, I'm not sure what the problem could be but all I can say is that the executable is called evolution and is in /usr/bin on my comp. Maybe try
whereis evolution
to see if the executable is actually on your system.
Good luck

The Evolution daily snaps (in rpm's)are at ftp.ximian.com, and all the dependencies to make it play nice are kept in the same folder. These are often a few days behind, but if you have real bugs, hang out at the chat server, irc.gnome.org and join #evolution or #evobugs and let the developers know. Stuff gets fixed the next day, usually.

Taken from the Sylphhed FAQ:
1.5 Q05 What does the name Sylpheed mean?
A. It means "light weight", like air. This comes from the name of the wind spirits, the Sylphs.
So true, so true.
