I was wondering if anybody could give me a recommendation of an e-mail program for Linux. Basically, I'm looking for one that can do: POP3, IMAP, and HTTP accounts. (So I can access my Hotmail account without having to visit the webpage.)

Hmm...a Windows comparison would be Outlook Express. Anybody know of anything comparable?

Thanks,
Dark Ninja

P.S. I forgot to add that the only one that seemed somewhat decent that I have found so far is NS Webmail. I haven't tried it yet, but according to its description on Freshmeat, it can do the POP3 and the IMAP. I'm not sure about being able to access my Hotmail account.

You should use fetchmail to download your mail from the POP3/IMAP server, then you can use any program to view it.

I recommend mutt. It's probably the most popular.

I don't know of any clients that'll let you access Hotmail, though.

I was going to recommend mutt too, although if text stuff is not your thang, then maybe KMail will fit the bill. Not sure if it fits all the things you want tho.

Sylpheed's pretty good, but I don't know if it will handle Hotmail.

I used to use balsa (graphical mail client). Now I use mutt. I don't know about hotmail, but don't most webmail services support forwarding of mail or pop retrieval?

Kmail is good, never heard of anyone accessing hotmail through anything but ms's own crap.

evolution is really good, although there are still a few annoying bugs. But it's probably the best GUI MUA out there, IMHO.
