Office XP on Redhat 8?

Hi all,
I have a Redhat 8 system with wine installed. I have just managed to get MS Office XP professional installed using wine. It is in actually running the programs that I get errors. Excel and Word will both start, but if I try to select "Open File" they will both crash with some error about the program needing to close. Powerpoint simply closes immediately after displaying the window without even giving me a chance to select anything.
I realize most of you would suggest openoffice. I've tried it. Unfortunately I exchange files on a regular basis with other people here. Most of the files are rather complex and incorporate images, tables, and equations. OO simply won't read them properly. Does anyone know if staroffice or some other linux application has better support for MS Office files? Could you suggest anything to help me get the programs running under wine? I don't have a windows partition on this system at all - pure linux! I have attached the text output created when I run powerpoint. If I can't get this to work, next step is to try crossover office. Any suggestions?

buy crossover office. it is not expensive and really the only solution if you need to be able to work with "complex" MS Office files on a regular basis. i.e. files that OO.org can't handle.
