Can I be my own host?

I recently registered a domain and I was wondering if I could set up an Apache box and host it? Can this be done? If so, any pointers or links I can go to for info?

What kind of internet connection do you have?

It is very easily done. You just need to know a couple of things first.

Check the webserving forum farther down the main forum page.

it can be done with dial up

most dsl providers allow servers, although you need to check your TOS

most cable providers DON'T allow server, check your TOS

it is fun to do! :)

You can, but your cable provider might not like that.

What I would do is I would visit, http://www.phpwebhosting.com
