I need some help on putting Linux and Windows XP ont he same hard drive, i did install Redhat9 but it formatted Windows, so i only have XP now, i have Partition Magic 8.0 if someone can give me some steb by step instructions, need to get use to linux fast as i have the PS2 Linux Kitcoming whats just cost me £200

Partition your harddrive, and install Linux on one of the partitions.
Remember that all the data on that partition will be lost.

thanks, whatfilme format do i use for linux
FAT
FAT32
Linux Ext2
linux Ext3
NTSF

I dont know. Im a n00b myself, but I believe that Linux can read from NTFS, read from and write to FAT32, but you need Linux filesystem on your linux-partition...
Dont know this for sure tho...

Ok thanks, i did try NTFS but Linux wouldnt install in DOS mode to the NTF partition which was about 7gb, i have so many VDD Images on my hard drive i cant give much disc space at the moment, dont suppose you've ever tried the PS2 linux?

BTW.... Next time please include a subject that actually relates to the question being posted as 'New to Linux' certainly does not and this thread should have been locked to begin with.
