Hi,
## Problem ##
unable to receive mail
#
I have installed and configured Extremail V1.5 release 9.
I have disabled all connection options except pop3, being the one I want to use. I am able to connect and login to the pop locker and issuse commands. upon login, via telnet, I am getting a line that reads "Mailbox locked". Not sure if this is because I just logged in and now it is locked untill I logout. in which there is no problem there. I have allowed connections from any address to port 110 in iptables and have open the 110 port on the router/firewall as well. have no problem connecting just not able to receive mail. MX records have been setup. I have tested the login and send of mail to/from my address on a remote site, mail2web.com , to make sure that it is truely pointing to the right domain.
in add user I have set large limits to make sure it's not a quota issuse. Have set mailboxaccess=1 status=1 enable for the domain and user of that domain. have recreated domains and users. Don't know where the problem is and there does not seem to be a lot of support on this prog seeing as how it appers not to be in wide curculation. Mail is sending has not come back yet so don't know where it is jsut not in my inbox.
any help, thanks.

That is probably because (a) it is not open source, and (b) it does SMTP, POP3 and IMAP, while the Unix philosophy is to use separate programs for each. Why don't you switch to a more popular pop3 daemon? I know Redhat installs ipop3d by default, for example, and that has always worked fine for me.

By all means I am willing to try another program to handel my pop3 server. This was actuly the 3rd one I have tried to setup. Having different problems with a couple of main stream choices. I worked with sendmail for a while but did not care for the interface and also had an issuse with getting the pop3 to wrok while the smtp worked fine. I have also tried Xmail, teapop, and pop3lite. None of which were the ideal program for me. The only one that had a syntax that I liked was the eXtremail and there was a nice doc file that came with it as well. That was the only reason a posted up here rather then muddeling through one of the other programs. I'll take a look at that ipop3d it appers to be on my system already. I'll just have to take a look at it and see how the interface is and that it supports virtual domains.
If anyone eles has worked with eXtremail or has another program that prefer for serving pop3 accounts, please do tell.
/etc/log.d/conf/services/ipop3d.conf
