I got my laptop back it is a:
486 33MHZ
60MB HD
4MB RAM

I want to get linux on it.
I know if I get the 4MB extra ram would help but the 4MB mem upgrade is propriatary and would cost me an arm and a Leg.

Any suggestions. Remember I only got 4mb ram.

Thanks

Its possible but it won't be any good for running X, or even for walking X slowly whilst it trips over its zimmer frame. A small distro with a minimal install is all you can hope for. Debian would fit if you didn't install anything. Don't know anything about slackware. Perhaps one of the floppy distros of which there are many may well suit you search freshmeat for mini distributions.
