Hi everybody;
I am a windows user and i love to use Linux after this but I never used it before or saw it (exception ; screen shots :)).
I downloaded Mandarake 7.2 and burned it.
It is 648 MB and when i put it in and reboot the system it boots up but when i try to install it, it freezes on CD ROOM INITISLIZING and gives me the message, "mount failed: Invalid Argument"
then next windows "Error mounting ramdisk.....i will restart ur system".
this is what i get.
now would u plz guide me.
:confused
thanks a lot everybody.

Are you installing on a 486?

Could you give us your system specs and partitions etc. dualboot?

Error mounting ramdisk

Searching the forums for your error message may give you results. Seen that here before.

I have two partitions. C:\ less than 3 mb and D:\ over 10MB.
I have windows 2000 as op system.
do u think it can be from not downloading it completely????
although i downloded it completly and burned it into a 650MB cd and the file was 648MB.
which is (680,378,368 byte).

I have seen some one with the same probleme and told me that this is because I had downloded with IE or Netscape and not with a FTP. He said that it should be downloded binary which is possible through FTP progs.
any ideas about this????
