I'm being offered to buy the following system for about 26$ a month for three years. Do you guys think I should take it or save my money?

128MB DDR 266MHz
AOpen DVD 12x40x
30,2GB 7200rpm UATA-100
GeForce II MX 32MB TV-Out
VIA AC97 Audiocard
56k V90 intern
10/100 Realtek PCI
3,5" 1,44MB
240W, Headset
Standard PS/2
17" 1280x1024 TCO99
Windows Millennium Edition (will try to trade it for a 64mb graphic card)

That's under $1000 when it's all said and done, and you don't even have to pay for it all at once. It sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me.
You should go on Pricewatch and spec each of those individual componenents, and find out how much it'd cost to build this system yourself. This shouldn't take more than 10 minutes to do, and should give you a good idea of the "retail value" of the machine.
Just to be clear, this is a payment installment plan and not a lease, right? So you own the system at the end of three years? My hunch is that this is a good deal, but I'd still check it out on Pricewatch first.

That sounds like a good deal. Here's a list of what I would pay for it in Canadian with a conversion to USD at the bottom, I can beat the price a little but not by much. Note these are real prices from the place I order stuff from not pricewatch ones :)
185 AMD Athlon 1,4GHz DDR 266MHz
195 Microstar K7T 266 Pro w audio
38 128MB DDR 266MHz
70 AOpen DVD 12x40x
140 30,2GB 7200rpm UATA-100
100 GeForce II MX 32MB TV-Out
20 56k V90 intern
22 10/100 Realtek PCI
20 3,5" 1,44MB
30? 240W, Headset
12(mouse) Standard PS/2
20(keyboard)
220 17" 1280x1024 TCO99
125 Windows Millennium Edition
105 Canon BJ S-400 Colorwriter
45 17" Case/PS
$1347CND
OR $898 USD
An Nvidia GTS PRO 64MB w/tv out is about 146usd, the gf2mx and winme combined are 150usd so you should be able to get one of those instead.
Since you would be paying for it over 3 years, this sounds a little too good to be true. Are you sure you don't have to sign into an internet service agreement or something like that?

No I won't be forced to pay for anything extra if I don't want to add a better graphic card or such.

i don't think this is a good time to take on a monthly payment, no matter how low
paying for a computer over 3 years doesn't make sense to me, no matter how cheap

It sounds like a good deal to me.
But I would pay all at once get it all over with or make three or so big payments the sooner you own the item the better off your be.
thats my two cents... I'm spent.

I bought almost the same system for $750US.
But taking the fact that you are paying only $26 a month it sounds okay I guess.
