This is maybe stupid and shows my my very low knowledge of linux - but how do i switch on the num lock key on startup ?

Yo! I don't think there are any stupid questions...

I don't know how to do it but i did a forum search and found this thread that might help:

It seems it doesn't work!. Now I read in a previous discussion that it doesn't help to put "Numlock status: On" in BIOS, because kernel turns it off.
Then it should be rather easy for someone who can read the source code to disable this? Is there really any reason for why kernel turns NumLock off?
