Mkd 8.1 - did an expert install without enabling supermount and with my Zip250 USB connected at time of install.

Problem - zip drive was identified during install and as a user there is a "Zip" icon created on the desktop. But, if the zip drive is opened via the "Zip" desktop icon it tries then gives a "Unsupported action Listdir" error message. OK, no problem, I manually create a new desktop item called Zip Drive and set it up properly - and it works a treat.

So, deleting the original fsked up Zip desktop icon is the last thing to do - right- wrong - I do this & then reboot only to find the damned thing is recreated on the desktop again.

Any ideas on how to effect permanent deletion of the original "Zip" desktop icon tha was automatically created during the install????

I have the same problem with deleting or renaming the desktop icons. Even as root the icons come back or the name resorts to the original.

Just one of the things on my list to figure out. If I ever do, I'll let you know.
