Ok, so I'm new to this stuff.

Here is my current network setup:

Windows 98 on one machine,
WinNT 4 Server on one machine
RH 6.2 on one machine.

I have them all connected to a hub and the Win98 machine [which is my best machine] is connected to the internet, and is running WinRoute 4.1 Pro

How do I use LinuxConf [in Xwindows] to be visible on my network and use the Win98 box to connect to the net, and at the same time connect to the WinNT server to view its web site, and on top of that, I would like to be able to telnet from the Win machines to my Linux box... can anybody help me, I've been trying everything I can think of in the LinuxConf program to get it right, but it won't work!

I DO get blinking lights on my hub, like the Linux box is TRYING to connect to the others, but it never quite gets there!

Any help is HIGHLY appreciated!

I have about the same setup as you, but I don't use X much, especially not for configuring the network!
So I can't help you with X, but I believe the steps are about the same?
1) You must have Samba installed on your Linux-box.
2) Configure Samba for encrypted passwords (you could get Windows to accept all passwords, but I don't think you should take away the small pieces of security there is in Win98 as this is your connection to internet.)
So, basically my advice is: check out Samba.
Good luck!

Thanks, I'm gonna have to try that out when I get off work today... what a pain to get this computer onto my existing network... BUT, when I DO get it on the network, what a great learning tool it will be to get into this whole Linux thing :)
