My resolution is too low and I need to change it, as well as the mouse speed,
however, I dont want to edit xf86 config because i am unsure of my monitor and graphics card info
is there an easy way to do this?
(i am using slackware)
Run "xf86config". As for the mouse, it's not in the xf86config, you can probably do that editing your XF86Config manually.
Try doing some searches at G4L (www.google.com/linux) to find how it can be done.
you can use xset to set your mouse speed.
the mouse resolution is set in the kernel.
from menuconfig:
<M> Input core support
<M> Keyboard support
<M> Mouse support
(1600) Horizontal screen resolution
(1200) Vertical screen resolution
<M> Joystick support
<M> Event interface support

As long as you do not change the existing info for your monitor and graphics card, there is reason why you should'nt edit the config file.

edit:
in the XF86Config file
there is no line which shows the resolution
I am looking at the Sections "Screen"
and there is no line called modes which states the resolution
can i add it in?
in which case, whats the format?
