i work with mandrake 7.0.
Currently i use a voodoo 3 pci card with no probs.
I have now got a hercules geforce ll prophet mx(agp).
X-server will not work with it even using generic drivers.
I have just read the excellent nhf on installing the drivers for the geforce.
My question is how will i be able to install the drivers when i can not see the screen.

Im not sure what version of XFree86 come with drake 7.0, but you need to have XFree86 4.0 or better to use NVIDIA drivers.

Yup. You need to upgrade to at least XFree86 4.0 or better. This ought to get you rolling:

Here's how you do it, I have an NVidia Geforce 2 GTS myself and this worked for me.
Visit www.xfree86.org (http://www.xfree86.org) and make your way to the section with the newest version of xfree86 (4.0.1?) and then to the drivers section.

Find the Nvidia link, get them drivers, enter your package manager program (depends what distro you use) or manually install it, run Xfree86 config and you're good to go!
