For those who know the linuxcounter:
what is it for? why are people member of it?
and if it would have advantages: how can i register? i looked at counter.li.org, though didn't find it

The purpose of the linux counter is to get a rough idea of how many users and how many machines are running linux. It's for fun, so show you support and register.
