whenever I try to sign in. I always get this:
....was unable to sign on: Authentication Failed
I get the same error using yahoo and msn. What's the problem and how do I fix it?

What version of Gaim are you running? 0.66 is the latest; anything before 0.60 is hideously out of date and could give the errors you report.
Are you sure you have the correct signon details?

I would assume that is what Stween meant.

To find out what version it is that you're running, from a command line type:
gaim -v
... and it'll tell you. I don't know off the top of my head what version RH9.0 ships with. You can find the latest versions in RPM format for Redhat on this page:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=235
... and you'll be looking for the gaim-0.66-1rh9.i386.rpm file there. Instructions on how to upgrade/install RPM's can be found all over the place :)

That's exactly what I mean. The details you use to sign on with.
