Hey all

Just thinking about adding slackware with redhat 9 on the same hdd.

But was wondering, I was told a long time ago to make swap 1024mb, and I did. But can redhat 9 and, slack share that swap space?

Or do they use it differently? and I need to create a new swap for each linux os?

If so, when it comes to ask me if I want to format the swap space, do I say yes or leave it as is?

thanks

You can share the swap without any problem is it possible to share /home and some other directories but those are a bit more complicated.

If so, when it comes to ask me if I want to format the swap space, do I say yes or leave it as is?

I have always answered "YES" but i guess you can leave it as it is.

If you want more info, search here and google...you should find a lot of info about this.

Also, you don't need such a large swap - 512MB is usually the maximum size. You can even share your swap with Windows - there's a HOWTO on it.
