Can you run "/sbin/ifconfig" and post the output please? Also, from windows xp, run ipconfig from a command prompt and post that output. We should be able to get you up and running with that info.

Ok for /sbin/ifconfig its
Link encap:Local Loopback
inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask: 255.0.0.0
UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:16436 Metric:1
RX packets:1877 errors:0 dropped: 0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:1877 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:0
RX bytes:127635 (124.6 Kb) TX bytes:127635 (124.6 Kb)
and as for ipconfig
Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection 3:
Media State....................: Media disconnected
Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection 2
Connection-specific DNS Suffix :ec.rr.com
IP Address............................... :192.168.1.100
Subnet Mask............................ :255.255.255.0
Default Gateway...................... :192.168.1.1
It seems that your network cards are not up.
Are you going to use DHCP?
I changed the title to a more meaningful one.

It seems that everybody with onboard lan on an NForce chipset mobo has the same problem.I believe that your onboard nic is not supported yet.You may have to wait patiently for support or buy a cheap(15 bucks) nic ,preferably a realtek 8139 chipset.Im building an NForce machine soon also and am counting on not being able to get the onboard nic working.:)

How long do you think it will be befor it is supported. A month? two months?.... I even got that nforce 2 driver for Redhat 9 that nvidia has on there site.

some kernel patch sets support it; alternatively, Gentoo has an ebuild to build the modules for it.
the Wolk kernel patch set (http://wolk.sf.net) supports NForce boards iirc (you'd have to check though as i'm not entirely sure).
