Hello -
Thanks for reading my post ... your help is appreciated! Does anyone know if AUTOPPP is enabled in the PPP daemon that is distributed with RHv9.0? The vershion of PPP that came with the CDROMS is: PPP-2.4.1-10. If not I am going to have to compile my own with the AUTOPPP option turned on.
Thanks,
Bill KJ6EO :D

Hello All -
I would like to answer my own question in hopes that it might help someone else. My question was worded wrong. It should have been "AUTO PPP ENABLED" in Mgetty ... not PPP. I was not able to resolve my "running in slow motion" problem with my RHv7.2 server so I had to reload everything over again! It was a good time to upgrade to RHv9.0 so I bought a copy. RHv9.0 comes with the following Mgetty packages:
mgetty-viewfax-1.1.30-2
mgetty-1.1.30-2
mgetty-sendfax-1.1.30-2
mgetty-voice-1.1.30-2
The "AUTO PPP OPTION" is ENABLED by default. There is no need to recompile it in order to enable "AUTO PPP" when wanting to run a PPP dial-up server. I really like RHv9.0 ... the new desktops are nice and I especially like Mozilla and the Open Office package. I also liked the newly designed network configuration GUI. I had allot of problems with the network config GUI in RHv7.2. It blew up on me quite a few times and eth0 and eth1 would'nt init during boot up. I had to delete the devices and redetect them with KUDZU before I could correct the problems.
Again, I certainly appreciate the meaningful help that I receive here.
