ok im a compleate n00b and have little or no idea what im doing.

I have 2 machines connected with a crossover cable.. they used to both run XP with one computer sharing a dail up connection with the other. i installed redhat 9 on one computer (the one that wasnt sharing the connection) .. everything is so good so far. the redhat box even picked up on my xp box sharing the dial up connection right off the bat. wich is great.

However this is what im looking to do... in my redhat box i have 2 hard drives one with all the redhat install .. another is FAT32 im trying to set it up so i can access both drives from my XP machine (especialy my FAT32 drive) i started reading about samba but didnt know if that would effect the fact that my redhat box is getting its internet connection from my xp box.

thanks in advance!!

samba wouldn't have any bearing on your internet connection.

if your redhat box can already "see" the files on the fat32 partition then simplying setting up samba (chances are its already installed) to share that drive would be enough so that the xp box (the one that shares the connect) can access it.
