i dont know what im doing wrong but i jus downloaded mandrake 8.1 and im trying to setup my internet. i have an internal lan adaper that i know is supported with 8.1
Mobo: ECS K7S5A w/DDR SiS 735 chipset.
I have a cable modem that i plug directly into my internal lan adapter. i go through the auto-config, but no dice. any suggestions or a link that explains how to set it up correctly?

log in as root, go to the control center and somewhere there is a cable connection config there. Get all the info from your ISP, DNS, GATEWY, IP NUMBER and so forth.....DHCP is a little odd with drake, MY ISP is dhcp, it didn't work with me, so outta luck I setup WITHOUT DHCP and I got connected....go figure :)

Well you should try to use Wvdial, for me this is the best and the more easy to use, use this and you will config your modem in 1 minute, it's very easy and simple ;)
