Hello,
To make a long story short, someone hacked into my home computer running RedHat 6.2
I want to wipe the current install and simply re-install it. BUT, I do not want to loose my /home, /usr/, and /opt directories.
All of my files are stored in the /dev/hda5 partition. During the install, is it possible for me to choose for RedHat to go into /dev/hda5, but not format it? If this is possible, I'll go into my system using the linux rescue before the install and manually remove all of the unwanted directories in hda5 and I'll move /home to /Xhome, /usr to /Xusr, etc. This way when the new ones are created from the install, I can move what I want into the new directories.
Is all of this possible? Any insights?
