I'm wanting to use gimp to create a pattern that I can use in various places. I'm needing a tiger stripe pattern. Does anybody have a gimp script that I can use to create this pattern? Does anybody have this pattern already?

Kind of like that, but I need tiger not jaguar. I need stripes.
try looking here (http://www.gimp.org/patterns.html) for Gimp patterns
or here (http://www.gimp.org/scripts.html) for Gimp scripts.

Thanks hayl but none of those patterns even closely resemble a tiger or tiger stripes and the scripts don't look like they could be used to create such a pattern either.
try using google then i guess :(

Search the web for tiger or a good tiger pattern you like. Save the image, open gimp and open the image. Select the area you want, select file-->Save as
/usr/share/gimp/1.2/patterns/tiger.pat
(Note, your path may vary if you aren't on 1.2 :) )

That helped. I found some tiger pictures and patterns, saved them as .pat files and now I'm in business. Thank you very much!!
One more question though...... lol
How can I make a font bigger than 46pt font? To create the effect I want I need a "fat" font. The "fattest" font I found was courier bitstream, but it would only go up to about 46pt. I'd like it to be bigger if possible. Any suggestions? Thanks again.

Easy,,,
Xtns-->Scriptfu-->Loggos-->Basic (if you want a basic font). You have unlimited size when using those. Note though that these create actual images that can't be edited, however, there is no reason you can't create text 1000 point fon't size.
Check my sig on GIMP and look at the various loggos for an idea what you can do. 3D outline is about as fat a font as you can get. :)
