I've got a system I wish to install Red Hat 6.2 on. I've created a CD to install from that has all the relevant Red Hat updates to 6.2. I've installed it, it finds the kernel and the SCSI controller, and so on. EVerything looks great, it runs through the filesystem checks, and I get a kernel panic, with the error "Invalid Session Number or Type of Track." The machine still takes interrupts (Ctrl-Alt-Del still works, etc) but it's stuck after that.

the error sounds like something to do with the CDROM, so is it possible it is a bad burn? this is CD#2 so I don't think so.

thanks

did you download a rhat 6.2 iso image? cause if so, i seriously doubt theres a prob with that, it could then only be your hardware.
