Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : No GIFs in KDE?

I just installed KDE 2 on my system, all the packages (libraries, games, etc.). Things work nicely, for the most part, but I noticed that none of my KDE applications will display GIF files. This includes KWord, etc. and Konquerer, which makes it very annoying for web surfing.

I'm not seeing any errors related to loading the images on the console...

Is there something special I need to do to get GIF support in my KDE programs? Or is this just some glitch in the way it was installed on my system?

Thanks in advance

Not even netscape or mozilla? Try Electric Eyes. Not sure if its a Gnome only prog.

Did you install KDE from source? Did you compile QT by yourself and with th -gif flag?

Non-KDE apps will display GIFs just fine. Netscape, Mozilla, xv, Electric Eyes, etc.

I didn't build from source, I just used a Slackware package for Qt 2. I'll try building it from source like the posting above recommended, and see if it helps. Thanks :D
