About a month back I mistakedly put a CRIMM in slot1 of my mobo and managed to fry it. Since then I ordered a new mobo and installed it without a problem.

Everything now seems to be working fine except my monitor. If I turn it on with my computer, my computer beeps 3 times and nothing will display on the monitor although the power light on the monitor will beep on and off.

I tried using a different monitor and it seems to work fine. Is my monitor fried or is there something else I can try to get it to work?

Note: It does not display anything when plugged into different computer either. My mobo is an intel vc820, monitor is a samsung 955df.

Any suggestions/ideas on what may have happened would be much appreciated.

seems to me you need a new monitor... does any other monitor work with the computer? i wouldn't recommend going inside the monitor to check it unless you feel like getting electrocuted.

The monitor's light blinking means that the monitor is powered up but isn't getting a valid video signal (or it thinks it isn't).

The 3 beeps come from your BIOS POST (Power-On Self Test). Are these 3 long beeps, 3 short beeps, or a combination of both? If you can tell us that and give us the make and version of your BIOS we can tell you what that beep code means.

If you've tried the monitor on another computer without success (and are absolutely sure that you were using video settings that were compatible with the monitor), and have successfully used another monitor on the questionable computer, Jo.Mo. might very well be right about the monitor being damaged.
