Hello,

I’m having errors while trying to install Mandrake 8.0. I continue to get Ram disk errors, or occasionally I will get a can’t find file usr/bin or something like that. More so the Ram disk error will pop up 99% of the time.

I used to get the same error while trying to install 7.2, but after a few try’s it would install with no problems. Unfortunately this is not the case with 8.0. One night I tried for 3 hours to get it loaded, but to no avail.

Is anyone else having this problem? If so please let me know what you have done to remedy this problem I maybe having.

I have an Athlon system that I am trying to install 8.0. Dual boot with Win2k.

Thanks!

I would check my memory cards. Open up your case, remove any memory cards you have and clean the edge connectors with an eraser, lightly. Reinstall memory, reboot, reinstall Mandrake!
