Hi

For the past three weeks I haven't been able to pick up any updates for Mandrake 9.1, but I've seen several advisories. I just get the usual "the list of updates is void" but this, given the fact that I've seen several advisories lately, is rather suspicious to me. Do I have a problem with an update feature that for some reason got wrecked? (even though I'm not getting any error messages). I removed my old mirrors in the "software sources manager" and added new ones through the ZARB site. and ever since I haven't been able to pick up any updates. I'm puzzled.

Does it work if you put the 'old mirrors' back in the software sources manager?

I use Mandake 9.1 and tried four different mirors and still got the same error arioch got. I thought it was just me.

What gives here?

  :D :D

Hey, I'm always confused, ask mdwatts.

hell update hasnt worked since they implemented it, but make sure you add an update source to your urpmi sources, go to plf.zarb.org for help on how to do so, you must have main, contrib, security, and updates sources for it to work as far as i know, good luck

URPMI IS configured correctly. The update feature has worked flawlessly for me untill a few weeks ago. I've tried several different updatesources from ZARB but still no updates appear:(

I still haven't contacted Mandrake. I figured they don't have anything to do with the ZARB site, since they have their own mirrors available through Mandrake club.

then contact plf, or the source maintainers

I picked the carrol.cac.psu.edu mirror and it found a whole bunch of updates. I hope you have a broadband connection. Mine said 225Mb. I have a 24K connection. I'll also wait until Mandrake 9.2 comes out.

If you don't get the screen to pick a mirror go to control center and Configuration/Packaging/Software Sources Manager. You may need to open 'update source' and remove the old entry so it will ask for a new one.

Seems like the other mirrors may not have gotten the updates???

:D :D :D :D :D

Post back arioch if this works for you. If so I'll try to contact the other mirrors or Mandrake.

Thanx dude. I'll give it a whirl:D

I wonder if the unofficial mirrors are being downprioritized to squeeze people to join the "Mandrakeclub" and thereby make people pay for access to fully updated mirrors?

I didn't see a entry in the list for Mandrake's website. But it may not be there for that reason. I'm disabled but I plan to join when I get everything I need for this system. I should be getting my new Cyberpower 1250 UPS Monday. :D
Now if I can get DSL, the world be be better, for me at least.

:D :D :D

I'm still having issues. However, I have been able to pick up one or two updates from various mirrors, so it is working. If somebody reading this, has a fully functional and updated update mirror NOT obtained through "Mandrakeclub". Please post what mirror you are using. Thanx
