will it overwrite my MBR, forcing me to also reinstall linux? (Keeping in mind I don't have a floppy drive on this system with which to make a boot disc to get into linux)

I sure hope not, because reinstalling Windows looks like something I'm gonna have to do.

Hmmm, if lilo is installed in the mbr then yes, windows will rewrite it and you won't be able to boot into linux without a boot disk or boot cd. Hmmm, anyone else have any suggestions? Can you get someone else to make a boot disk for you?

I'm not sure about other distros but in debian boot from the CD. Instead of pressing enter to install, type 'linux root=/dev/hda1' at the prompt. Replace '/dev/hda1' with the correct name for your root partition. Then to reinstall LILO type '/sbin/lilo'. You may have to mount other partitions manualy depending on which partition the /sbin directory is on.

I don't have a floppy drive, so unless somebody could make a boot cd I'd be kind of stuck. Fortunately, I solved the problems.

Stupid ASPI drivers!

If u have a CDROM working well then you can again proceed thru Linux installation in Expert mode and choose update in which he will ask you about LILO.You can have ur settings done.
