I Installed wine and stuff. From a tardball. (Using Slackware 9.0 By the way) and Blah... It gives me this error:
root@etob:/# wine
Warning: no valid DOS drive found, check your configuration file.
Warning: could not find wine config [Drive x] entry for current working directory /; starting in windows directory.
Invalid path L"c:\\windows" for L"windows" directory: does not exist.
Perhaps you have not properly edited or created your Wine configuration file,
which is (supposed to be) '/root/.wine/config'.
root@etob:/#
I don't know what to do. Any suggestions? I know it's something about the config file but I did everything that the winehq website told me to do.

Could you perhaps post your Wine config so a member can look it over?

Umm... Well I installed everything Like it tells me. I followed the link that it said (Where config is supposed to be. /root/.wine/ But it's not there. :( ) What to do!?
EDIT: hard candy, I tried using winesetuptk the very first time I saw the configuration error. But I can only find RPM's of it (Also in that website) And I'm using slackware. I dont know if slackware can take RPMs but Mine cant. IT keeps giving glibc dependancy error. (Same goes for any RPM I try to install)

Bleh.. Now i'm worse of then when starting. Thought it would work :O so I downloaded the Wine RPM and used Alien to turn it into a slackpack. And after wards I tried to install it using "pkgtool" and it did "install" And I though "Sweetness!" But! I tried using "wine" Command and it doesn't find the command.

im also trying to get wine working after i compiled it i check if a few things were right. i checked ~/.wine/ to see if my config file was there which it is. i told myself ok i guess its good to run an exe file so i tried to run notepad. didnt work
said
wine: lstat /tmp/.wine-pingpong/server-303-cb541/socket : No such file or directory
so i got an exe program and typed wine filename.exe and said wine: lstat /tmp/.wine-pingpong/server-303-cb541/socket : No such file or directory
same thing. dont think i got it all configured properly i left the file as it is. didnt change nothing are you supposed to change it or does it set it up for you?

I dont mean to indrude here, But Just didnt want to make new tread about this. I just have one question. Where is wine installed? I installed it via the rpm by just clicking on it, and it installed. Not I cant find the dir.
Again sorry to intrude.
