I'm not a first time user of Linux, as I've previously dabbelled with Mandrake a couple years ago. I have essentially forgotten anything I've learned, but am looking to get back into it.
I've just picked up a Shuttle AN35N. For those unfamiliar with it, it is based on the nforce2 Ultra chipset with the low-end MCP. Basically a budget board, but with onboard sound and ethernet.
Should I expect having trouble getting anything to work? I plan on installing this weekend, and hope everything goes well.
Sorry for the completely open-ended question, but maybe somebody has some insight?

If it has a newer chipset, you may want to use a later version of the kernel so it has a greater possibility of supporting the chipset and onboard devices.
What soundcard and ethernet models? You could try searching the JL forums for each to see what you find on previous problems and setup suggestions.
That and www.google.com/linux
nforce & nforce2 have been discussed in a few threads here at JL.

I have the retail version of Suse 8.0 Personal. I plan on downloading the update to 8.2 once I get the internet up and running.
I have already searched and found one specific thread on the nforce2 chipset, but there wasn't much good info.
I will also do some reading via google searches as well, just trying to take all this in before I get started.
The ethernet is provided by Realtek, but not sure on any kind of model number. Onboard sound is a Realtek ALC650. Pretty common if I'm not mistaken, so I'm hoping there will not be much problems.

There have been many posts here on Realtek ethernet cards and I've seen some on the ALC650 though I cannot remember how well it's supported.
As I suggested, try searching the JL forums for both or just wait until you install and see if both are detected and configured.
Ensure you disable PnP OS in the bios before starting the installation of SuSE.
