i'm thinking of getting one of the newer hauppage wintv cards. i was wondering if anyone had success using this series. the newer ones use the conexant cx88 chip, NOT the bttv series. so i was wondering if anyone had tried the cx88 driver available at bytesex or whether there's a more fully developed version out there.

I have never used a T.V. tunner card in linux myself but I did a quick G4L search & this is what I found according to this site http://www.linuxhardware.net/cgi-bin/view.cgi?1999-04-20_10:18:07
the card has worked well since kernel 2.26:cool:
and here are the rest of my google.com/linux search results http://www.google.com/linux?hl=en&lr=lang_en&ie=ISO-8859-1&safe=off&q=hauppage+tv+card&btnG=Google+Search
I searched using the name of your card. hauppage tv card
hope that helped you;)

thanks for the resource, but that only applies to the bttv chipset. like i said before, this card uses the newer conexant cx88 chipset, and thus it hasn't been supported in the kernel since 2.2.6
this one isn't even supported i don't think. so if anyone else knows where to find the appropriate drivers OR whether the bytesex ones are decent, please let me know
