I have been reading a couple of Linux books and it seems that you can hack you smb.config, dhcpd config, and firewall configs. Ok, so they fail to tell me how. Can someone point me in the right direction. I have no problem finding the files but I cannot get into them.

Yes, I tried to gain access to these configs in root.

Such as,

cd /ect/dhcpd.config/

What am I doing wrong???????????

Hey boy...
/etc/dhcpd.config
isn't a directory.

Just fire up an editor, change into /etc and OPEN the file dhcpd.config... :D
